The first session for the class is learning CASPER (Principal of Design) by Mrs Hazrati.

Mrs Hazrati explains to us about CASPER with clear and detail which makes me understand well.. Thanks to her, i gain new knowledge today.. 🙂
Here is what i have learn from the class…

CASPER

-CASPER, the principle of design
-Layout design in electronic presentation such as power point, refers to the skill used to arrange media in the slide in order to produce an attractive presentation
-Guidelines on how to arrange media; text, graphic, animation, and video.
-CASPER is stand for C-CONTRAST, A-ALIGNMENT, S-SIMPLICITY,
P-PROXIMITY, E-EMPHASIS and R-REPETITION

1. CONTRAST

-Two different items on screen should be differentiated in regards to each other
-Avoid overlapping
-It helps to attract audience
-It can be accomplished through:
 a)Font size
 b)Font type
 c)Line
 d)Color
 e)Graphics

2. ALIGNMENT

-Each element in the presentation should be in balance with the screen size.
-Balance:
        Symmetrical
        Asymmetrical
-Images used should be visually connected with each other.

3. SIMPLICITY

-Use simple graphic and animation
-Attractive – user can understand the message
-Easy for the audience to navigate

4. PROXIMITY

-The distance between element
   a) Text
   b)Graphic
   c)Text and graphic
-Same element should be grouped – near to each other
-Different element should be placed far from each other – avoid overlapping
-The aim is to create a visual that consist of separated units

5. EMPHASIS

-Emphasis on elements and information in the screen
-Can be accomplished through:
   a)Text size and object
   b)Text shape and object
   c)Text arrangement and object
   d)Text color, object color and  background color
   e)Graphic and animation

6. REPETITION

-Standardization – helps to convey message to the audience
-Background color
-Font size
-Font type
-To much repetition will lead to boring presentation
-Use different media; text, graphic, audio and animation

Next session is the talks of Student Learning With Information In Higher Education by Miss Aida. Miss Aida delivers her speech with enthusiastic which get our attention to focus on her talks. She gives us much information regarding the use of information from internet to the university students.

The last session is learning ADOBE PREMIER from Mr Helmi.
We learn to edit or trimming the video by using software of Adobe Premier.

Mr Helmi try his best to teach us about Adobe Premier but unfortunately not all the computer in lab has Adobe Premier Software that make some of us cannot follow the learning of this software. Hopefully next time, all the computers in lab have Adobe Premier Software so all the students could learn this software which help us a lot in editing video for the project of video production..
